Hit the water on this beautiful friday morning and as expected, only caught crabs, no lobster. This is the most common crab in the Boston waters, the rock crab. The Mass Fishing Dept will allow 40 of these crustaceans to be taken from the water per person, daily. Personally, i’m not too interested in spending 1 hour picking apart a crab for a measly 2 oz of crabmeat so for me, back to the water they go.
Starting any morning on the ocean makes for a good day but the best news is the traps have been filled with bait and returned to the ocean. Now we are just sitting back and waiting for the lobsters to come. The first lobster haul of the season is coming up. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
